3 reasons I love yoga

Friday, July 31st, 2009 by Ali Cherry

yogapose.pngAre you a yogi? Me neither, though I have really gotten into yoga in the last month and I’ll tell you why. What do you think?

  1. You are your own resistance. Unlike biking, weight lifting, treadmills, etc. that require equipment to challenge you, yoga is completely reliant on your own body limitations and weight to stretch and tone your muscles which makes it as easy or hard as you want it to be.
  2. The visual inspiration is abundant.  People who do yoga on a regular basis have ridiculously toned bodies.  There’s nothing like seeing the finish line to get you to the starting line.  I figure if I do it as much as they do, I might be able to stand on my head and have a six pack one day too.
  3. You get to finish with a mini nap, otherwise known as a savasana. What other exercise do you know rewards you with a 5 minute nap right after your hour workout? It’s awesome.

7 security questions

Thursday, July 30th, 2009 by Ali Cherry

Everything from Facebook quizzes to American Express ads seem to want to know my deepest personal preferences.  I was recently struck by the creativity of a selection of security questions for an online health care service.  Is this really the best they could do?  I think you can guess which one I picked. Hint: fleece is the answer.

  1. What is the city of your birth?
  2. What was re name of your first pet?
  3. What is your favorite city to visit?
  4. What is your favorite household tool?
  5. What is your high school’s mascot?
  6. What is your favorite fabric?
  7. What is your favorite childhood book?
